Between 1927 and 1933, S/SS/SSK/SSKL supercharged supercars appeared frequently in prestigious events such as Grand Prix, long-distance, endurance or mountain racing. And in an incomparable way it proved to be a veritable "invincible monster," or as it was affectionately dubbed, "White elephant."

adopted the abbreviations S/SS/SSK and after 1931 SSKL (from the German word: "Super-super," "Sport-Sport," "Short-Kurz," "Light-Leicht") to describe the level of development of their sports cars, which are all equipped with powerful 7.1-liter in-line six-cylinder supercharged engines. Many famous racing drivers of the year drove the series of supercars, including Rudolf Caracciola, Manfred v. Branchitsch, Hans Stuck, Carlos Zatuszek and Bernd Rosemeyer.
